The short version
Your work never leaves your computer. Photos, 3D models and projects are processed entirely on your machine and are not uploaded anywhere.
What does leave is the subscription check: every time you open the program, it asks our server whether your licence is still valid. It sends your email, your licence code and an identifier for your machine. Nothing else.
That is not a loose promise: you can check it with any firewall. You will see a single connection to api.cavorite.dev when the program opens, and none while you work.
1. Who is responsible
Ariel Damián Guerschanik, NIE Z2884242R, resident in Barcelona, Spain, trading under the business name "Cavorite".
Contact: info@cavorite.dev
2. What stays on your computer
- Your photos, your 3D models and your projects: they never leave.
- The activity log, in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Cavolux\logs. It is not sent anywhere and you can delete it whenever you like.
There is no usage telemetry: the program does not report which tools you use, what you generate, or how long you keep it open.
3. What is sent when the program opens, and why
For an annual subscription to work, there has to be a way to check that it is still paid. On opening, the program sends to api.cavorite.dev:
| Data | What for |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To identify you together with the code |
| Your licence code | The same |
| A machine identifier | To see whether one code is used on many computers |
| A random number | To stop anyone reusing an old reply |
The machine identifier is a number derived from your Windows installation and truncated. It does not say who you are, what computer you have, or what is on it: it only makes one machine distinguishable from another.
The server replies whether your subscription is valid and how many days are left. The server counts the days, not your computer.
One licence, one computer
The licence covers a single computer. The machine identifier is what makes that checkable. If you change machines, write to info@cavorite.dev and it gets moved.
If there is no connection
The program lets you open it five times without connecting, telling you how many are left. After those five, it needs a connection to open again. That counter lives only on your machine.
4. What is stored on our server
For each licence:
- Your email and your name, as received from the payment provider.
- The licence code and the start and end dates.
- The identifiers of your purchase in Stripe, so they can be cross-checked with their records if something goes wrong.
- When your last check was, how many you have made and **how many different machines** the code has been used from.
Those last three exist for one reason only: to spot codes shared among many people. They are not used to profile you or for advertising, and they are not shared with anyone.
IP addresses of failed validation attempts are also stored, for at most one hour. They are there to stop anyone trying codes at random, and they delete themselves.
Licence data is kept while the subscription is active and for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Legal basis: performance of the contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) for everything needed to provide the service, and legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)) for the minimum that prevents licence sharing.
5. Where the data is
On Hostinger servers in the Netherlands, inside the European Union. Backups are in Lithuania, also in the EU. There are no international transfers outside the European Economic Area.
Exception: Stripe, which processes the payment, is a US company and handles your payment data under its own policy.
6. Your purchase data
Payment is processed by Stripe. They handle your name, email and payment details under their own privacy policy. We never see your card: it does not pass through our server or through the program.
From Stripe we receive your email and your name, and we use them only to create your licence, send you the code, and warn you when your subscription is about to expire.
7. The program's other connections
Apart from the subscription check there are two, and you start both of them:
- Installing the compute engine, the first time you open the program. It downloads from PyPI, the public Python package repository.
- Downloading an AI model, when you press "Download" in the Setup menu, points straight at the model author's server.
In those downloads the destination server sees your IP address, as in any download. That is handled by them under their own policies, not by us.
8. In-program notices
Along with the subscription check, an informational text may come down — news, version notices — which is shown once and saved to news.txt in the program's data folder. It is the same text for everybody: it is not personalised and does not depend on anything about you.
9. Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability. Write to info@cavorite.dev and it gets sorted.
Note that erasing your licence data means cancelling the subscription: without it there is no way to check that you paid.
If you believe you were not dealt with properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
10. Changes
If the program or the way your data is handled changes, you are told in the news panel inside the program.
